The Tohono O’odham Nation is just months away from opening the largest casino in Arizona. The expanded Desert Diamond Casino West Valley has Feb. 19 penciled in as Grand Opening date. Located in Glendale, the casino has plans to hire 1,300 workers leading up to that date.

TOGE is the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise. They first announced plans for the casino in January of 2009. An interim casino opened at the site in December of 2015. The plans for the expanded Desert Diamond West Valley took shape the following year. TOGE broke ground on the $400-millon expansion in December of 2017. This full-scale design should be something to see.

The 75,000-square-foot gaming floor will be the largest in the state. It will house a large selection of the newest slots. There will be a 36-table poker room and 48 tables alone for Blackjack. Another feature is a 400-seat hall for live bingo. The job needs vary from casino workers to food and beverage positions. There will also be job needs for environmental services and security.
The current casino in Arizona facility has 700 workers. It has continued to operate during the entire construction process.

Every Monday in the month has the Jingle Bells Slot Tournament right through Dec. 23. Thursday, Dec. 19 features the Rockin’ Christmas Cash event from 4 to 7 p.m. Sundays feature the Cash Box promotion with $180,000 in cash up for grabs. While November’s total was not yet posted, over $7.1 million was paid out in October alone.
